Gabriella (Biella) Coleman is the Ernest E. Monrad Professor of the Social Sciences in the Department of Anthropology at Harvard University. An anthropologist of hacking and digital politics, she is the author of two books on the cultures of hacking and host of the BBC podcast The Hackers. She also is the founder and lead curator for Hack_Curio, a video portal covering the politics and cultures of hackers. Her research traces the politics, cultures, and ethics of hackers, with particular attention to how they engage with state power and is currently completing a book of essays based on her Lewis Henry Morgan Lectures.
