What are the registration dates and deadlines?
Registration will open on October 6th and remain available until tickets sell out. We encourage early registration to secure your spot and, where applicable, discounted rates.
I am an international student or scholar, how do I request an official letter of invitation for visa?
Please email cue@gse.upenn.edu with your full name (as on your passport), institutional affiliation, paper title and the address listed on your official documents. We will send a signed PDF letter for visa purposes. We cannot contact embassies or influence visa outcomes. The letter is for documentation only. Please begin your visa process as early as possible.
Can presenters bring guests under the age of 18 to the Forum?
Yes. Presenters bringing minors must obtain parental consent and are responsible for them while onsite. Guests under 18 must register with a special code to attend at no cost. Please contact at cue@gse.upenn.edu to obtain a special code to register the children and for futher instructions.
Does the Ethnography Forum offer financial support for presenters and/or attendees?
At this time we are unable to provide scholarships or travel funding, which is an ongoing goal for us to achieve. Please continue to check back in case this changes.
What are the onsite registration hours?
Walk-up registration will be available at the information desk:
February 6: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
February 7: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Are there any special discounts for registration?
Yes. Early bird registration will be available until January 6th. Youth under 18 may attend for free with a registered adult. Also, we offer up to 14 Act 48 Hours for Practitioners in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the low cost of $50.00. If you register for the conference and wish to obtain these hours, please contact Paula Rogers at cue@gse.upenn.edu, and write "Act 48 Hours" in the subject line to let us know you specifically registered for this purpose.
How do I make hotel reservations?
We offer several discounts for hotels conveniently located near the conference venue and central city attractions. Please see: Recommended Accommodations for more details
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Refund requests must be made by February 5th. You should email if you are not come. After this date, refunds cannot be issued.
